BitWizards is free for schools, and you may freely use its content for learning and teaching. Most of the content is in Polish.

Content: CC BY-NC 4.0

You may copy and share the content in any form and adapt it (shorten, combine with other materials, translate, build tests and lesson plans on it), on two conditions:

  1. Attribution. Credit the author, the source and the license, and say if you made changes, e.g.:

    Source: Bartosz Bryniarski, BitWizards (https://bitwizards.pl/algorytmy/),
    CC BY-NC 4.0, adapted.
  2. Non-commercial use. Do not use the content in activities primarily aimed at making money: selling materials, paid courses and tutoring, paid or ad-supported material platforms. School lessons, clubs, self-study and sharing with other teachers are non-commercial.

For commercial use, or if you are not sure, write to kontakt [at] bitwizards.pl.

Lesson code in your own programs

Code you write yourself is yours, even if you learned to write it in BitWizards lessons.

Lesson example code, model solutions and code snippets on pages such as the algorithm guides are licensed under CC BY-NC 4.0. On top of it I grant an additional permission:

You may use, modify and distribute code from BitWizards lessons, and programs based on it, in your own programs and projects, including commercial ones, as long as you give credit: the author, BitWizards and a link to the lesson or page the example comes from. This permission does not cover copying examples and exercises into courses, exercise collections or other educational materials: CC BY-NC 4.0 applies to those.

A comment in the code or a line in the project description is enough, e.g.:

# Based on a lesson example: Bartosz Bryniarski, BitWizards
# https://bitwizards.pl/algorytmy/algorytm-euklidesa/

Platform and name

The BitWizards application code, its design, name and logo are protected: all rights reserved. The licenses above do not cover the name or logo. The open source components used by the app are listed with versions, licenses and sources on the component licenses page.

User content

The license covers content prepared by BitWizards. Exercises and courses created or changed by teachers in their panel, and programs written by students, belong to their authors.

Frequently asked questions

May I use BitWizards exercises in my lessons?

Yes. You may copy, print and adapt them into worksheets, tests and slides, and share them with students online, as long as you credit the author with a link to bitwizards.pl and do not use them commercially.

How do I give credit?

One line is enough, e.g. Source: Bartosz Bryniarski, BitWizards (bitwizards.pl), CC BY-NC 4.0. Link to the specific page or lesson if you can, and say if you changed the material.

May I paste lesson code into my own program?

Yes, with credit. Code you write yourself is yours. If your program is based on lesson examples or solutions, you may use and distribute it, including in commercial projects, as long as the code or project description names the author, BitWizards and links to the lesson. This is an additional permission on top of CC BY-NC 4.0. It does not cover copying examples and exercises into courses, exercise collections or other educational materials: CC BY-NC 4.0 applies there.

I run paid tutoring or a course. May I use the materials?

CC BY-NC 4.0 does not cover commercial use (selling materials, paid courses and tutoring, commercial platforms). Get in touch - permission is often not a problem.
