How to get started

BitWizards is completely free - for schools, teachers and students. There are no fees, subscriptions or paid tiers. Getting started takes two steps: teacher registration and students joining.

Step 1: teacher registration

A teacher account is created with confirmation from the school:

  1. Fill in the paper teacher registration form.
  2. Have it stamped at your school with the school’s official stamp (confirming that you act on behalf of the institution).
  3. Scan or photograph the completed, stamped form and attach it when registering your account.
  4. An administrator verifies the application and activates the account - from that moment you can create classes and assign courses.

Create a teacher account.

Step 2: students join the class

  1. In the dashboard, you create a class and generate an invitation code.
  2. Students register with that code - they land directly in your class.
  3. After registration, every student provides a consent form for participation in research:
    • it is signed by a parent or guardian,
    • or by the student themselves if they are an adult (18 or older).
  4. The student uploads the signed consent (scan or photo), and you or an administrator approves it.

We develop the platform as a research project: we study how students learn programming - based on the anonymized record of their work in the editor (how a solution takes shape step by step). The data is stripped of identifying information and is used solely for research on programming education. That is why using the platform requires informed consent - from a parent, a guardian or an adult student.

There is time to provide the consent (a grace period counted from registration). Once it expires without a consent on file, access to lessons is suspended until the consent is uploaded and approved.

Everything with no installation

All learning happens in the browser - on school equipment and at home, with nothing to install. Before creating an account, you can see a demo lesson without signing in.

Frequently asked questions

How much does BitWizards cost?

Nothing. The platform is entirely free for schools, teachers and students. There are no fees, subscriptions or paid tiers.

Why does a teacher have to submit a school-stamped form?

It confirms that the account is created by a teacher acting on behalf of a school. You scan or photograph the completed form stamped with the school's official stamp during registration, and an administrator activates the account.

What is the research consent for and who signs it?

We use the anonymized record of how students work (how a solution takes shape) for scientific research on teaching programming. The consent is signed by a parent or guardian, or by the student themselves if they are an adult (18 or older).

What if a student does not provide the consent?

After registration there is a grace period to provide the consent. Once it expires without a consent on file, access to lessons is suspended until the consent is uploaded and approved - during that time the student can only upload the consent scan.
